2022 will go in the history books for the Savannah region. As a part of the Savannah Harbor Interstate 16 Corridor Joint Development Authority, SEDA played a major role in landing Hyundai Motor Group (HMG). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The state\u2019s largest economic development deal in history will have a lasting impact on our region for generations to come. You can learn more about the HMG project in this report and at savannahjda.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SEDA\u2019s business development team hosted a record shattering 87 prospects in 2022, with 18 of them from Tier 1 HMG suppliers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the HMG announcement, 13 other companies expanded and located in Chatham County in 2022 including attraction projects like Really-Virtual, ZeroFox and Norma Precision and expansions by Amazon, Brasseler USA and Savannah Bee Company. We helped projects like MSI and Savannah Global Logistics Park celebrate their grand openings and traveled the globe to tell the Savannah story. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Technology and Innovation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n


The Savannah Logistics Innovation Center (SLIC) and Plug and Play selected their first cohort of startup companies for their accelerator program raising $25 million in investment for the companies. Startup accelerator programs support early- to late-stage, growth-driven companies through education, mentorship and financing.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This program is offered in partnership with The Foram Group<\/a>, the Georgia Department of Transportation<\/a>, Georgia Ports Authority,<\/a> Georgia Power<\/a>, Georgia Southern University<\/a>, Maersk<\/a>, the Savannah Economic Development Authority<\/a>, Savannah State University<\/a> and Savannah Technical College<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The startups selected include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
